Buy or Rent Your Parts Washer?

The traditional business model for high-usage parts washers has been to rent them. The rental company would provide a basic metal trough with a tank and pump, and come in every few weeks to change the dirty solution for fresh, clean degreaser.

But what are you actually paying for? The parts washer itself was not expensive, maybe a few hundred dollars. But the cost to regularly take away the used solvent for processing and replace it with new is much more. This is what you are really paying for: not rent, but servicing.

BIO-CIRCLE changes that. Thanks to bio-remediation, our parts washers require very little maintenance and servicing. The oil and grease contaminants are biodegraded into water and CO2 – so there is no need to regularly replace the liquid. Dirt is caught by the multiple filters which only need cleaning or replacing occasionally. The only regular requirement is to check the fluid level now and then and top up – which the operator can easily do. Why pay someone else to do what you can do in just a few minutes?

Are you thinking of renting a bio-remediating parts washer?

Compare the cost: typical rental bio-remediating parts washers have mats that need weekly attention (BIO-CIRCLEs don’t) as well as topping up, for which you are paying over $200 each month for someone else to do. This amounts to around $8,000 over the course of a 3-year contract! A comparable BIO-CIRCLE GT Compact parts washer will cost less than $6,000 over the first three years, including the cost of the machine. Subsequent years' costs are then limited to the cost of liquid only – typically $800 to $1000, with maybe $50 for new filters. But you are still paying over $2,000 every year for your rented washer. And you will never own it!
